About
I am a London-based integrative psychotherapist and qualified grief and loss counsellor, holding a Master's degree in Psychotherapy & Counselling. Originally from Sweden, I have also lived in America and Germany before settling in London over 25 years ago, experiences that have shaped my understanding of what it means to adjust to major changes and rebuild in new contexts.
Having worked in a range of charitable, community and therapeutic settings, including Age UK (55+), a bereavement service and charitable foundations supporting clients with complex needs, I am passionate about supporting both younger and older adults through challenging personal and professional experiences. This includes bereavement, relationship difficulties, career crossroads, caring responsibilities or family estrangement, the empty-nest stage or other significant losses such as family estrangement or health.
Many of my clients come to therapy feeling stuck, repeating painful patterns, or unsure how to move forward; the particular pressures of managing competing demands across work, family and personal wellbeing. At the heart of my approach is helping clients recognise that what feels familiar—pushing through pain, staying stuck in difficult relationships, sacrificing their own needs—does not have to be the only way forward and supporting them to discover their own power to choose differently.

Approach
I hold a Master's degree in Integrative Psychotherapy & Counselling and work with adults of all ages. Being an integrative therapist means I am not limited to one way of working. I can draw from a range of approaches depending on what you need. These include therapeutic modalities that focus on relationships, emotions, behaviour, life meaning and the impact of past experiences, as well as tools that support practical coping and emotional regulation. I also stay informed by current research in areas such as neurobiology, attachment and trauma, which helps us make sense of your experiences in a grounded and compassionate way.
I draw particularly on psychodynamic thinking. The relationships and experiences we had growing up often shape how we see ourselves, how we relate to others and what we believe is possible for us as adults. Understanding these patterns can be hugely helpful, but it does not mean being defined or limited by them. Together we explore how your past shows up in your present, while also focusing on the choices, freedoms and agency available to you now, supporting the changes you want to make in your life as you move forward.
I also work with an understanding that behaviours often serve a purpose we might not immediately recognise. What appears as anxiety, addiction, or self-destructive patterns may actually be ways of managing neurodivergent experiences, seeking dopamine, regulating an overwhelmed nervous system or coping with feeling fundamentally different. Rather than pathologising these responses, we explore what they might be telling us about how you process the world and what you genuinely need. This includes understanding how masking, overcompensation and cycles of hyper-focus and burnout may have developed as survival strategies and how to find more sustainable ways forward.
